From the moment Anand Patel could hold a paintbrush, his passion for creativity was evident. While other kids chased footballs and swung baseball bats, Anand was captivated by colors and fabrics. His bold clothing choices often made him the subject of teasing, but he embraced his unique style with pride.
Growing up as the youngest in a family that celebrated life with grand weddings, Anand found his true calling in the vibrant world of South Asian fashion. Whether it was flying to India to handpick chaniya cholis for his sisters or meticulously pleating sarees for his mom and aunts, Anand was always in his element. By the age of 13, he grew tired of ill-fitting, ready-made Indian wear. With the help of family tailors, he began customizing outfits for himself and his loved ones.
Anand soon realized that many of his family and friends still struggle with finding outfits for weddings. They have tried local shops and ordering through family in India, but remain unsatisfied. Anand aims to show fashion-forward individuals that there are South Asian outfits that fit their unique vibe. His goal is to educate the diaspora on contemporary South Asian wear.
