From a young age, creative activities have always been a favorite with Anand. While the rest of the boys chose sports, Anand chose paint brushes and colored pencils. Being different has never been a fear for Anand. Though he may have been picked on for his clothing choices, his style continued to be unique.

Being the youngest in the family, there was never a shortage of weddings. Anand always loved assisting his family in the clothing process, whether it was going to India to buy chaniya cholis for his sisters or pleating his mom and masis' sarees. After about age 13, Anand dreaded ready-made Indian-wear. Nothing seemed right for him. With the help of family tailors, he was able to start customizing pieces for him and his family. Today, Anand wants you to see EKTA as an outlet of his creative freedom. With every new line, he wants his clients to embody his vision and empower them to embrace their individuality.
